Some Odd Girl- my very first!

What a dismal day it is today- I think it's been raining here in Essex for 48 hours non-stop. Just a wee bit depressing! Anyway yesterday I decided to make a card just for fun- you know- no DT work, no deadlines- just cos I wanted!! I've recently fallen in love with Some Odd Girls! Yes, I know I'm strange- why has it taken me so long? I can't answer but I have fallen for them in a big way so expect to see some more from me! So I decided to enter this month's SOG's sketch challenge.

I have used Picnic Mae and coloured her with copics with a few lyra pencil highlights. These pretty papers are October Afternoon Woodland Park. Fence, grass and banner die are all Die-namics. Sentiment is Hero Arts. Butterflies are one of the paper designs which I then simply cut out.

Close up. I hope I've done her justice with my colouring. Kristy is such a fantastic colourist- is that a word?!

For some reason blogger is playing me up and I can't seem to display it so if you want to see the sketch, please click here.

I have to admit I coloured this image up absolutely months ago, so much so that you can see I used more watercolour pencils than copics!! Anyway, this image is a Sarah Kay stamp called A Little Help from Margot. These beautiful papers are by October Afternoon called County Fair. The little flowers are made using Magnolia dies.

Close up.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend. It's Sunday so it's time for another Kenny K's Krafty Krew Challenge! This week's challenge is black and white plus one other colour.

I used Kenny K's Big Surprise. I coloured with copics and paper pieced her sweater and neck scarf. I so love the retro feel of this image. I must admit I don't think I've ever used this colour combination before but I really like it- sometimes less is more! The papers I've used were a mixture of Echo Park Happy Days and October Afternoon Hometown. I can't remember where the yellow polka dot was from. I used the MFT Say What? stamp set and die for the sentiment and the Skyline border is also a Die-namic.
