Christmas Magic!

I'm catching up with showing you another card I made for DT work but didn't have time to post on my blog. This time it's for a recent Anything Goes Challenge which was lilac and lace.

This gorgeous image is of course a Sarah Kay stamp. I coloured with a mixture of copics, lyra and watercolour pencils. These beautiful papers are by Basic Grey called Eva I think. Green holly was made using a Papertrey Ink die, gold holly border made using a Memory Box die. Sentiment is Craftwork Cards.

Hope you like the close up. It took ages to colour this one!

I hope you get the feel of a velvet purple winter coat and bonnet!

Sketch Saturday- Life is a party!

Hi all! It's Saturday so it's Sketch Saturday time! We have a lovely sketch for you this week, I just love the jaunty angle of the sentiment!

So for this week's card I've used Partygirlabella. I coloured her with copics and paper pieced her trousers and top. Underneath shadow is lyra pencils. The balloons were coloured with a mixture of lyra and watercolour pencils and then I paper pieced the 2 heart balloons. The heart balloons and party hat I've raised up on 3d pads. Papers are Happy Go Lucky by MME. Ribbon was recycled.

Close up! Hopefully you can see the 3d balloons and party hat!

Anything Goes- Make your own background!

Hope you all had a fabbie weekend and have been enjoying the glorious sunshine! Today's challenge over at Anything Goes this week is "make your own background". Now, I must confess, this is pretty much my worse nightmare challenge! As you know, I prefer to spend my time colouring but I thought the idea of a challenge is to challenge yourself!!! So why not make something totally different and completely not my style? So here it is.....

For this card, I used the Dienamics zig-zag border die and cut strips of cream and blue cardstock along with a sheet of patterned paper by Lily Bee Designs and glued them together to form a background. Kinda thought it looked a bit like a quilt. Then I got brave and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts right over the top! The Butterfly is another Die-namic die and finished with pearls.

Do pop over and have a look at the DT's samples- this challenge is a great example of how we crafters can vary so much!

Crafty stash used: Stamp (Hero Arts); Paper (Lily Bee Designs); Assorted cardstock; Zig zag Die-namic (MFT); Butterfly Die-namic (MFT); Pearls

Kenny K's Krafty Krew Challenge- Get Sketchy!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend and managing to do a bit of crafting. Today's theme over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew is a sketch so why not join in the fun?

Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago for my sister as she was staying with us whilst we were lucky enough to go to a few Olympic events. We've both really been into the Olympics so I decided to make her a card to celebrate. I used Olympic Runner by Kenny K and coloured him with copics. The papers I've used are by Making Memories. I got the outline of the flag online here and then just paper pieced. The sentiment is a Sizzix alphabet called Smart Guy.

Close up!

Here is the fabbie sketch we had to work with.

Sketch Saturday- Wallstreetafella!

Hi folks! Hope you are all well. Firstly, I'd like to say hello to my new followers-hellooooo! Can you believe the Olympics is over?! The closing ceremony was fantastic and had my top two fav singers/bands- George Michael and Take That! Whoop! I really enjoyed the Olympics so much and I thought it was just amazing how, despite our usual cynicism, the whole country came together and supported the event. When we do that, we really are a country to be so proud of. Best Olympics ever!!

Anyway, off my soap box and onto today's card! Yep, it's Sketch Saturday time!

For today's card I have used Wallstreetafella from Stamping Bella. So fab for male cards! I have coloured him with usual mixture of copics, lyra and watercolour pencils. The papers are Echo Park This and That. The sentiment is Stamping Bella sentiment that comes with Executabella. As it's a male card, I kept it quite simple.

Here he is in close up! Ready for a day at the office!

Here is this week's fabbie sketch!

Today I've made a Christmas card using Mo Manning's Carolers 3 I think it's called. This has got to be one of my fav images of her's. It took absolutely yonks but there's so much detail, it's a total joy to colour! I coloured with usual copic, lyra, watercolour mix. These papers are by Authentique called Wonder. I hope you can see that this gorgeous ribbon is actually a forest green colour (not black!!) Loving the fish-tail banner Die-namics- soooo useful!!

I'd like to enter this into:
Crafts and Me- use a digi image
Inky Impressions- use a ribbon
Papertake Weekly- anything goes

Close up. Don't they look like they're singing their hearts out?!!

Even closer look! Such a gorgeous image to colour!

Anything Goes- Summer Days!

Hellooo! Well how fantastic was the Olympics yesterday as well?! I'm especially pleased for Andy Murray- two fantastic medals!! And we narrowly missed out on about 4 gold medals! We're on fire!

Yes, it's Tuesday today so that means it's Anything Goes time and this week we have the lovely challenge of "Summer Days"- not sure how appropriate this is for the UK this summer but we can all dream!

My sis asked me to make a card for her friend's birthday and she cycles alot so she picked out Flora the Cyclist from Stamping Bella.  I think this is one of my fav makes for a while- I just really like the colours on it. These stunning papers are by Echo Park- This and That. I didn't use the sentiment that comes with Flora but the sentiment I've used is an individual Stamping Bella sentiment. I've used the Memory Box label die for the sentiment.

Kenny K Challenge- Your Favourite Ice Cream!

Hello folks. Wow- how fantastic are we doing in the Olympics??!!! Go Team GB!!! I was privileged enough to be at the athletics on Friday night and saw Jess Ennis being her usual amazing self. The atmosphere was amazing, the park was so well organised. It really is a time to be so proud to be British. It was such an amazing, exciting day!

It's Sunday so it's time for another Kenny K Krafty Krew Challenge! Yay! This week's theme is your favourite ice cream colours. Great challenge, right?!

So my favourite ice cream colours are chocolate, raspberry and caramel! Yummy! I've used Queen's Cutie by Kenny K and coloured her with copics, adding a few highlights with a white coloured pencil. I've cut round her which I was quite pleased with as I must admit I've always been quite scared to do that before in case it went wrong and it mucked up the hour I'd spent colouring the image!!! These beautiful papers are MME Happy Heart. The speech bubble and scalloped border are Die-namics. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.
